Every great backyard build has a lot going on behind the scenes. On this one, we handled the full electrical scope for a beautiful pool build - including the attached pergola and a freestanding shade structure out in the yard. Two separate structures, one cohesive electrical plan, all tied together cleanly and safely.

The equipment side of this job had a lot of pieces. Pool automation controls, a gas heater, filtration system, variable speed pumps, and more - all wired up and organized against the house. This kind of setup has to be done right. Pool electrical is one of those areas where cutting corners isn't an option. Water and electricity demand precision, and every connection here is properly protected and code-compliant.

The pergola wiring is the part that really pulls the outdoor living space together. String lights running across the entire underside of the structure, ceiling fans wired in and ready to run, and exterior lighting on the house side. That structure goes from being just lumber and shade to an actual usable outdoor room - the kind of space you actually want to spend time in.

We partnered with Abbey Anne Pools on this build, and it's the kind of collaboration that makes the whole project come together smoothly. When the pool builder and the electrician are working in sync from the start, the homeowner ends up with a finished product that looks and functions exactly how it should. No patchwork, no afterthought wiring - just a clean, well-planned electrical system from day one.

Pool and outdoor wiring is specialized work. Between the NEC requirements for pool bonding, GFCI protection, setback rules, and the complexity of outdoor structures like pergolas, there's a lot to get right. We do this regularly, and that experience shows in how everything comes together on a job like this.
